Harry Latham, who founded Miss Millie’s Fried Chicken in 1988 – and Ray Allen open the first Kentucky Fried Chicken store outside North America.

With the 100th UK company store about to be opened, Harry and Ray sell the UK company to KFC in America.

With the KFC UK stores approaching 400, Harry steps down as from KFC GB & Europe to concentrate on the Finger Lickin’ Chicken franchise in the south west, which he now owns.

With KFC increasingly preferring to focus on drive through and High Street stores, Harry and family decide to leave KFC and create a new brand for the 9 stores in Bristol and the South West — Miss Millie’s Country Fried Chicken, named in honour of Mildred, one of the two daughters of Colonel Sanders.
