Our story goes way back — 23 years before the first Miss Millie’s even opened. In 1965, under the watchful eye of Colonel Sanders himself, Harry Latham and Ray Allen launched the UK’s very first fried chicken shop in Preston.
Fast forward to 1988, and Harry and his daughters — Ann, Sheila, Kerry, and Kate — opened the first-ever Miss Millie’s in Bristol, with the name being inspired by the Colonel’s daughter, Mildred. And that’s where our legendary story began.
STANDING FIRMLY ON OUR OWN TWO FEET
It didn’t take long for Miss Millie’s to become a community favourite. With our signature fried chicken, we’ve been satisfying cravings for generations. Now, we’ve expanded beyond Bristol, with 14 stores stretching as far north as Scotland and as far south as Southampton. And we’re not stopping anytime soon.
LEVELLING UP
It’s 2024, and Miss Millie’s is levelling up. We’ve got a fresh new look, a bold new attitude that reflects the diversity of the people we serve, and a new secret blend of 12 herbs and spices. The taste? Next level.
Over the next few years, we’ll be opening more stores across the UK, upgrading our spaces to be friendlier, more efficient, and simply better. Because at Miss Millie’s, it’s about making every visit soul-satisfying.
now let’s talk about those PONIES
We’d love to tell you why two ponies turned up at Miss Millie’s, but honestly, we’ve no clue either. Maybe it was because, as one of the UK’s first takeaways, every order was hand delivered by local legends George and Deidre aboard these precious ponies.
Or maybe not, but let’s not let the truth get in the way of a good story.
OUR COMMITMENT TO THE PLANET
All our packaging is 100% recyclable. Our chicken is sourced from European farms that hold equivalent or higher than red tractor animal welfare certification.
