One of Colchester’s most hotly anticipated new openings, Miss Millie’s, the South West’s most loved fried chicken brand, is due to open on the High Street with a launch event on Wednesday 24th June.

Recognised as the UK’s original fried chicken store and a firm favourite in their home ground of Bristol, Miss Millie’s will celebrate their first Essex store on Wednesday 24th June, with a first-come-first served free chicken giveaway from 5:30pm. Before full opening on Friday 26th June where customers will be able to eat in, takeaway and order for delivery.

Miss Millie’s started life in Bristol in 1988, and in the last few years has broadened their horizons beyond the Southwest, with openings across Newquay, Edinburgh, Southampton and most recently, Canterbury.

The new Colchester branch will be opening on 10 High Street; a location previously occupied by KFC, and will span two floors, with dine-in space for 60 diners as well as plenty of space for takeaway customers on the ground floor.

The official launch on Wednesday 24th June will be a chance for Colchester locals to get a first taste, with the team offering free tenders to the first 100 customers through the door. Guests will also be able to order as usual from the menu, sampling favourites such as their Nashville Hot Chicken, the best Wings of Fire in the business, exciting range of flavour packed sauces and Miss Millie’s signature shakes.

Speaking about the official Colchester opening, Miss Millie’s CEO Andy Purnell said:

Miss Millie’s Colchester will open at 10 High Street, Colchester, CO1 1DA for their launch event on Wednesday 24th June, with full opening on Friday 26th June.
